I have been married to Catherine Ruth Pakaluk since August 15, 1999. She received her Ph.D in economics from Harvard in 2009, and we have 7 children:
Elisabeth Bayley (Lizzie) and Mark
My late wife, Ruth, died at a young age in 1998. I have written a memoir of her life, The Appalling Strangeness of the Mercy of God, published by Ignatius Press.
I was blessed with seven children of that marriage:
Maximilian (getting his J.D. the same day as Catherine’s Ph.D.)
John Henry and Bride, Kasia
Maria and husband, Sam Almeida, with Sammy
Sarah and her husband Noah Blanchard
Anna Sophia (“Sophie”) and fiance Philip Barrows
Thomas Matthew, Sept. 21 – Nov 13, 1989.
My youthful Mom, who lives next door at Ave Maria.
Lulu, my very affectionate, love-starved, Golden Doodle
