January’s Brown Bag Colloquium in Philosophy will take place this Friday, 12 noon, hosted again by Michael Novak.

This time I will be presenting on the topic of “Aristotle’s Modal Syllogistic,” and the prospects of resolving the puzzles in Aristotle’s development of his syllogistic through studying it “from the point of view of modern formal logic.”

My talk arises from a review I recently wrote of Marko Malink’s book by the same title (draft is here: Malink review).

No, not that kind of brown bag!!  (Although my wife would wish.)
That is a “necessary accident” (also known as a fashionable accessory), but not really possible.
